I heard today on a local radio that TNT won a contract to fly tourists on behalf of Club Med.
Some of their planes will be converted to pax planes for that purpose, I guess. (Or will they put them in crates? 😀
Now that Sobelair is bankrupt, it seems there aren’t enough planes in Belgium for charter flights.

Yep, i think you could fit 30 people or so into 1 crate if you put them horizontal, and fit about 10 of them into a TU204, so that would give us 300 pax! Hehe:D 😀

As far as I am aware of, all of TNT’s fleets are ex Pax aircraft. I stand to be corrected. [/B]
Negative – TNT were the only operator of they QT (quiet trader)series of aircraft, and these are dedicated frt aircraft and as such would not be converted to pax use, i would think this more likely of the B733 series of aircraft they operate as this would seem the easiest option.
Interesting TNT were the launch cistomer of the QT series of aircraft an orginally ordered around 75 i believe, but only 19 were actually delivered. OO-TAU and OO-TAO both visited LPL overnight last night whilst i was there…

i mean that because of this they will have to convert some F’s into pax planes and then they will charge hefty to the operators.:)

Their hub is indeed Liege. Flights should be from Brussels, but of course, Liege is an idea… Quicker turnaround times, and maybe finally an opportunity to take pics of TNT birds flying during the day 🙂

I think Kabir meant that they would be making ‘extra’ money by doing this. UPS did a similar gig about 7 years ago. They had a contract with some cruise line and they used a couple of 727-100QC’s that were normally idle during the day (those particular aircraft were used mostly at night). They would put pallates in there that had seats and gallies and peel off the interior cargo panels plus add overhead bins, oxygen masks, etc., and you had a passenger plane. These examples still had the windows on the outside, and the conversion only took a couple of hours. I’m guessing TNT will do something similar.

Interesting. If indeed true it will see former pax aircraft getting their windows back (scrapping off the paint) and getting seat put back in.
