the new mount was probably not arround when talwar was designed, orginal mount for a-190e is supposed to have rcs reduction as well according to the manufacturer.
The A-190 on Talwar is the first application of the new lightweight 100mm gun. Considering how quickly and cheaply these ships were built for India, and that India is licence building the Oto 76mm and is building P17 in country, the IN may not have wanted to wait for the A-190E and/or have considered the price difference too big.

The A-190E differs a LOT of the A-190 in appearance! Anyone have an idea why? Did they just fool the Indians with this “stealth” gun?

Still, the gun at top, first post, is porbably a reshielded AK-176, which may also be lighter.
Well whatever they did to the A-190 to lighten the 100mm gun they could also do to the 76mm gun too for use on smaller vessels that would otherwise be stuck with 57mm guns or lighter. Or it could perhaps be able to be put in places the 100mm guns can’t be fitted.

yeah I remember that even before tawlar was launched they claimed that A-190 could be placed in all same places as the old AK-176

Oh, they decided to have the bigger gun for that….
As I mentioned the new model 100mm gun is quite a lot lighter than the older and in many cases is used where previously a 76mm gun was used. As such I would expect a new 76mm gun to be used in places where previously only 57mm guns would be considered… unless of course the role made a smaller calibre more useful.
For example the AK-176M weighs in at 16.5 tons, while the system (without ammo) weight of the AK-100-MR-145 is about 49 tons. The weight of the A-190-5P-10 100mm gun is 18.7 tons. (Note that system weight includes the gun and gun mount and the control system but not the ammo.)
Performance is 15.6kg HE shell to a range of 21km for the 100mm gun compared to a 5.9kg HE shell to 16.5km for the 76mm guns.

I know this gun, I was just reading about it not long ago, I am trying to find out what it is but I do know that it is a version of an old gun that has been in service for some time! As soon as I find it I’ll let you know.

It is not a stealthy version of the A-190(E), e.g. as being fitted to Project 20380 corvettes, since this has 2 doors on both sides of the turret.
Rather, it looks much more like an AK-176 with a new housing.

Without looking it up the barrel of the gun looks like it is in the 76mm range rather than a bigger heavier gun.
May not be Russian, though they have introduced new stealthy lightweight gun mounts for 100mm and 130mm guns, and I haven’t seen anything in the 76mm calibre I think they have reduced the weight of the 100mm gun to the point where it will be used instead of the 76mm so they might not have a new 76mm gun like this.

well only one nation made big boiler size missile launchers for big supersonic cruise missiles whit sheer volume…and that was the Sosialististen Neuvosto Tasavaltojen Liitto, or USSR in London’s dialect. And that particular ship whit big tubes is one of the Slava class missile cruisers…but perhaps some one less ice-hockey enthustiastic could answer about that gun…I need to go watch some TV…
