Tocumwal Museum – picture/film requests

I mentioned this in the scrapyard thread but thought I would put a word in here.

I have just built and launched a small website for the Tocumwal Historic Aerodrome Museum. Nothing graphics crazy etc (and this is my first attempt at doing a website anyway) but has a gallery, history, news and links. The gallery currently consists of scrapping operations photos.

If anyone has any pictures of the airfield from its war years or the scrapping ops afterwards that they would like to add to the gallery please get in touch. Also any film would be great (there is some of the Liberators being scrapped but the owners want $15 per second for the footage and we don’t have that kind of money (its one of those super big multinational media companies)

But anyway if you do have anything relevant drop me a PM. The website is

Updates

Thanks to those who have sent material in. There is a great blog entry by Tony Tubbenhauer on his stint as a B-24 instructor at Tocumwal. Also some newly added pictures of the B-24’s formation flying over the airfield.

And remember we are always looking out for any pics, info, whole aircraft etc (yes I know the last bit is a stretch)
