It’s like watching a greyhound race.
Guys, it’s not a real rabbit, it’s just a lure, to sell a few papers, and get a bit of ersatz debate. 😉

Branson could’nt get a Concorde cos B A don’t like him, so no the ones over hear will never fly.

im hoping your comment was tongue in cheek, but im going to reply anyways.
Notice the 😀 face?

Bearing in mind the role British Media played in finally killing off the Concorde, the sarcasm in the article is highly unjustified.
In any case, there is no simulator anymore, no tires and no responsible design authority willing to let it fly (just to name a few). The Concorde will never fly again.

And you won’t seem any of them fly either, as they may be ‘over there’ but they are all still owned by British Airways who don’t won’t them flown.
sorry it was a tongue in cheek comment (hence the :P)
im well aware that BA still own them, id argue that they dont want them flown tho – as far as im aware its more a case of “well we own them and we cant fly them, so no one else can”

Then again, the French do have some history in doing what the h@ll they want, regardless of rules, protcol, understandings or international agreements.
Quite refreshing, whilst most of euroland suffocates in bureaucracy and micro-management.
Whilst I’m no Francophile I admit you’ve got to hand it to them when it comes to ignoring rulings they don’t like. Would that our government did the same.

I see this is being feverishly debated on other forums too, good for the French! at least it was being done quietly and with no fuss, as soon as the press get hold of it it is blown out of all proportion, big difference between “near airworthy” and airworthy…time will tell….

But then the americans already have several concordes over there and yet we dont see anyone atempting to fly them do we

Re the BA Concordes…Why not do what you always do….
Take a national aviation treasure that nobody in the UK seems to want or is prepared to pay for and sell it to Kermit Weeks! 😀 (who can fly it on a U.S. “experimental” certificate).Them you can gripe about it for the next 20-30 years.
im hoping your comment was tongue in cheek, but im going to reply anyways.
just because some rich americans have more money than ppl in the uk and want to “steal” our heritage does NOT mean people here dont want or arent prepared to pay for something.
However, id be happy to see anyone flying a concorde. But then the americans already have several concordes over there and yet we dont see anyone atempting to fly them do we 😛
Lets not turn this into american bashing, we all know who is to blame for the concorde farce

I thought it was the French(Airbus) who owned the design authority!
The last I heared they had withdrew this authority with no itention of reinstating it and so the Concord will never fly again. 🙁

You lot have been living on an island for too long!
Maybe so, but at least our big neighbours don’t habitually use the country for military manoeuvres every 60 to 80 years 🙂

Created by the French in the first instance 😉
A cunning ploy to slow the rest of us down!

It will never fly again!
But at least the French know how to respect their history, inside a hanger!
The Concordes in England are rotting away and unless something is being done they will end up like the rest of the BA collection.Chris
correct me if im wrong, but are the french not the reason that the planes are in hangars/rotting away in the first place as opposed to being where they should be eg in the air

“Increasingly likely event”
Did you mean increasingly UNlikely event? 😀 So what company/country has got design authority over Concord(e)? :diablo:
