This is bad news -its reported in ‘the other’ monthly mag that TB has sold his Spitfire V and his P-38 and the future of the rest of the collection is “In doubt”

According to G-INFO, PL344 is “Potential change of Registered Ownership in progress”

Anyway, back to TB. Has there been an official announcement or is it just the old rumour mill started to churn again?
Its public knowledge that the Spitfire V and P-38 have been sold. The Spitfire was due to be flown to Chino a couple of weeks ago so presume that has happened by now.
There are no official announcements to my knowledge so anything else is purely speculation. As earlier posted, these old aircraft change hands regularly as people alter their collecting policy or move aircraft on to make way for others. With every machine departing there is a new delighted owner at the other end so it works both ways.

Any further update on the fw190 and new buchon roobarb, or will you have to kill us if you tell us?

My maths teacher would be proud 😉
I forgot about the MkXVI 😮
(And I was thinking of flying aircraft, too 😮 )

We’re lucky enough that we have TWO of his aircraft in this country, currently based at Duxford.

It’ll be great, fantastic even, if the CAA eventually does allow the Flug-Werke machine to commit aviation in this country, and good if someone in the UK acquires her, but if it goes abroad to somewhere the legalities are a little more relaxed?
Well, it’s not as if the rest of the world is inundated with performances by these aircraft… I think only one has ever flown, and only on a couple of occasions (and never at a public event).

Settle down, for God’s sake!
Speculation won’t get you anywhere, nor will it help the owner of the aircraft if he wishes to sell up! I’m sure it’s a difficult decision for TB to make, granted, but they’re his aircraft, he can do with them as he pleases. He doesn’t buy these things to satisfy us, the spotters and rivet-counters etc. He buys them because he can and indulges in his passion!
We’re lucky enough that we have TWO of his aircraft in this country, currently based at Duxford. OK, they might be sold overseas, but they might also stay here if someone else acquires them!
So you’ve never seen a ‘190 fly? Neither have I, but I won’t lose sleep over it. It’ll be great, fantastic even, if the CAA eventually does allow the Flug-Werke machine to commit aviation in this country, and good if someone in the UK acquires her, but if it goes abroad to somewhere the legalities are a little more relaxed? Good. It’ll still fly and won’t be nailed to a hangar floor.
If you really don’t want the ‘190/Spitfire/Buchon to quit the UK, buy a Lottery ticket and pray for your numbers to come up….

And this is ‘bad’ because?
People sell aircraft all the time. Most aren’t affordable for the smelters.
