Just finished reading on Yahoo entertainment/ET online in an interview that Tom Cruise lists as one of the things he’d like to do most is to race in the Reno air races….and I can only conclude from that that he means in his P-51 ‘Montana Miss’…now would’nt THAT be interesting?

Nah, Stephen Grey got it right: this is a man’s plane (Sorry Melv, it’s a Pearl Harbor Spitty! ;))
By: geedee - 3rd August 2004 at 21:16
But that’s a girl’s plane – see, there’s one in the cockpit in the second photo 😉
and she’s a blonde and she’s fit and she’s a pilot as well !!!!

As for Tom, the advanced copy of the script that I read called for him to down a flight of ME-109s over Kent and then nip across the continent to take out a dam or two.
Isn’t Lend/Lease a wonderful thing? What would you have done without us yanks!
That film about you guys getting hold of the Enigma machine was on the other night. I couldn’t even bring myself to watch it and insult it.
Unfortunately Patty you have reminded me just how bad ‘Pearl Harbour’ was and so now I may have to mock and insult you.
I suppose we could think of some new titles, like 633 Bomb Group, The Battle of New England, A Yank in the RAF – and no one else was needed,
There are bound to be more . . .

Treat Williams was at Pylon school this year in the T-6. Pretty sure he’ll be at Reno next month.

Yeah – i can imagine his Movie insurance people saying…er…Tom…don’t suppose you fancy a nice bit of fishing instead…!

If Treat Williams can do it then I’m sure Tom can as well, just as soon as he finishes that little movie where an American pilot wins the Battle of Britain.
After the BoB he bombs Tokyo (despite having never flown a B-25)…oh, it’s already been done. Never mind…Okay, let’s have him head up a special USAAF unit that bombs German dams….:)

Treat Williams?? As in “Deep Rising”??
Just pulled this off the IMDB:
“Was a professional pilot for a year in the early 1980s.
Certified Flight Instructor, rated in single and multi-engine airplanes and helicopters.
In 2003, completed two weeks of training to qualify for flying jet engine planes.”
So what has he raced/flown??

Better go fast…..
It would really be exciting if Ms. Kidman were chasing him in a Fw-190…:)
