Apparantly over the coming years they are expected to be getting 737-900s and 787s. These will oust the 737-300s, 767-200s and some older 757s.

So Spanair no longer doing ops for Thomson.

Oh there is!
Flightline used a Spanair MD83 (Spanair a/c, crew etc) on our Reus flight (runs (DUB-)MME-REU-BFS-REU-MME(-DUB) on Mondays) and with Spanair doing it, it regularly got back (STA is 2110) around 0100-0200. Now that they got rid of Spanair and now MAPjet are doing it, it arrives back most weeks before 2200! Big difference!

Nothing bad about a Spanair MD83, i went on one 2 years ago, despite no IFE these are pretty good machines.

According to Jethro’s TOM have leased a Spanair MD80 for a month!
Seems a bit random.
Have they done this before during the summer? Or is it current fleets problems?
Anyone shed any light?
Yes this is on the CAA lease thingy for this week, they’re blaming it on late delivery of aircraft (do they have anything due? maybe a B733 for the low cost side) and they had an Air Europa B738 not long back (we got lumbered with it at MME – better not get this one 😡 )

Airliners.net forums, do a search you will find it.
Yeah, and in typical Airliners.net fashion, people jumped down your throat for essentially posting a rumor with no source of verification.

There has been NO official announcement on this- and there is unlikely to be until next year at the earliest. Forum rumours all speculative only.

Why trust forums? Nothing has been definately been announced yet, so don’t post rubbish like this which is blatantly not true.

Where did you get that from?
By: bmi-star - 27th June 2006 at 08:49
I don’t see the 737’s dissapearing quite soon, as they need them for the loco ops
