I was honoured to have visited in Bristol last November a chap of 96 years of age. His name was Tommy Broom and he was the navigator half of the Flying Brooms ( not related ) The pilot half was the Late Sir Ivor Broom. Im sad to say that Tommy died last week. I have posted a link to his Telegraph Obituary.

below is photo taken by my wife of him when signed a painting of his Mosquito bearing the “Crossed Witches Brooms ” and also his friend Tom Parry evans who wrote his biography ( well worth reading ) Tommy is holding the pint glass. ( he drank real ale and smoked St bruno )

I see he was the then Sergeant Broom who baled out of Blenheim T1884 near Stalybridge.
