Tony Agar

I understand Tony Agar has been rather poorly in the last few weeks.

Tony has dedicated a great chunk of his life in resurrecting a Mosquito from bits of various airframes in to say the least poor condition. The aircraft is not far from ground running and is a real example of one mans dedication. And is for all to see at Yorkshire Air Museum.

I also understand that Tony is on the mend and should be back on his feet very soon.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish him well and all the best for completing his project.

Mike E

Hi Tony

Doing well atm. Just had word yesterday the metal plate for my head has arrived, I told the Hospital they must not use it as an ash tray, or holder for peanuts at their xmas party, so another operation due in the new year, but that one I want asap. Got some residual problems from the surgery, like memory, and memory. But from where I was to where I am now is great, just looking forward to getting my driving licence back in April.

The trophy was ‘retired’ many years ago now.

Don’t recall saying anything in my post about trophy’s status ? Just that Tony Agar would be a very appropriate recipient

And ‘the book’ is well worth a read…

Get well soon Tony – was looking at the Mossie earlier this year and it certainly looked like you had been busy!

I met Tony in July this year and had the pleasure of being able to partly look over the Mosquito.
Great aircraft, great bloke, so get well soon Tony!

Get well soon Tony! You and your Mossie were two of the reasons I started my hobby – you showed it could be done!

Likewise for me too, get well soon from someone who has had a few issues this year. Seems to have been a bit of it about this year. 🙁

That Mossie is a real labour of love. If anyone deserves a medal, it has to be Tony Agar.

Did he do some work on the Duxford Hastings-or is my memory failing me? (again!)

Never met the guy, but looked over the rebuild boards displayed with the aircraft and was staggered to see what he had accomplished, hats off to the guy and get well soon.

I spoke to tony on sunday he is getting better. and it was good to see him back on his feet. Having seen his work close up its remarkable how much he has achieved. I like others cannot wait to hear the merlins roar hopefully in the not to distant future.
