In what may be yet another Board Room Bust-Up, Tony Davis is apparently to be the second Director to leave the bmi group (bmibaby) in what seems like as many weeks! TD had run the show at bmibaby since its start.
Its only a short time since Austin Reid also resigned from the bmi mainline board.
Question is… where is Tony Davis going? Was he pushed or did he want to leave?
Something very strange is going on down at Donington. Watch this space!

Baby can quite acceptably operate under the bmi AOC. The company is in essence, only a brand. Just as long as the 737 is put back on the bmi AOC there would be no problem.

bmi is an outfit that desperately needs to be streamlined. They hold three AOCs, one for the mainline, one for regional and one for baby. Their cost base is huge, but if the whole operation was put under one AOC the likelyhood is that many savings would follow.
Does baby not have to operate own AOC to keep seperate from bmi as flight crew would need to be bmi with one aoc wouldnt they?

Talk is that Tony Davis is going to Tiger Airways in Singapore.
For what its worth, I believe that Tony stuck his neck out a long way when he said that Baby’s traffic at East Midlands was stifled by the name and that naming the airport Nottingham would generate significant additional traffic from abroad. Of course, hindsight shows that hasn’t really happened, so maybe the writing was on the wall?

Tony was a nice guy. Had the pleasure of speaking to him on several occassions when bmi baby was very infant. He seemed very enthusiastic and hard word. Will be hard to replace i think.
