I was watching a movie a few weeks ago on the tube, and I believe it was called TOP FLIGHT. It had some great air to air shots of what Ibelieve were Venoms, and Hunters. Can anyone shed some light on this movie?, cheers:cool:

You guys were right, it was called High Flight. If you want some more good aerial film scenes with jets. try the Hunters starring Robert Mitchum. It had some good scenes with F-86’s vs. F-84’s thinly disguised as Migs. It’s out on DVD.

Details according to IMDB. This film should be regarded as a classic so it is unusual that it has not been released for the home market.

Ah. ‘High Flight’.
With the 20 series museum Spitfire that still defies identification…fifty years on. 🙁
It has been discussed before but is still not resolved.

Seems perfectly straight forward to me, even got the word “Spitfire” on it, to help you make the right decision!!

I caught a little bit of this one afternoon when it was on BBC many years ago. What I saw looked awsome, and all those bluenotes! If it ever comes out on DVD I’ll be first in the que. 🙂

That wouldn’t be HIGH FLIGHT rather than Top Flight would it? With Ray Milland and Bernard Lee? If so then it was filmed at RAF Cranwell I believe in 1957 or 58 or thereabouts.
I’ve only ever seen it once but I remember flying scenes being wonderful.
I don’t suppose anyone knows where/how I can get a copy? Been trying for ages but it doesn’t seem to ever have been released on VHS let alone DVD.:(
