Hasn’t it?
It did have at one time; WW2 possibly?
I know some record attempt with an electric car was held up years ago due to some unexploded ‘ordnance’ problem.
WA$.
was probably washed up stuff from the pembrey ranges. i’m from accross the estuary on the gower peninsular, and several beaches there (whitford burrows, llangennith) have problems with ordanance getting washed up there, even tenby, miles down the coast has had the odd bit of stuff from pembrey washed up on it.

they’ve also filmed on cefn sidan beach which is next to pembrey.
pendine having a range on it indeed!
they stopped the public driving on pendine due to the danger of someone getting run over. the only exception since the ban was when they celebrated the centenery of parry thomas’ death in babs. but even then it was hard to get the local council to agree to let vintage cars on the beach.

Don’t believe all you see. It was Pembrey not Pendine filmed in October 2004, close. Also the C130 did not land and disembark the Jaguar.
It landed, LOADED the Jaguar, and THEN disembarked it!!:D

All vehicles were banned from the MOD Pendine Sands (range) in 2004 due to possible unexploded bombs.
Pendine Sands was also where the land speed records were attempted in the UK before the beach got too small.
WA$.
Depends on how old the programme was, they did use Penine a lot for filming before the ban.
Superb footage of the Jag, 911 and the BMW? strutting thier stuff with the Jag winning

That series has just started in this country, and it’s quite an enjoyable hour of entertainment apart from that poncy fairy presenter who goes by the name of Jeremy
Give it time, I dare say he’ll grow on you 😀 He’s actually quite entertaining.

I wanted to see the episode where they were going to jettison a Mini from the ski jump, but unfortuantely, I missed it! I hope I will be able to catch a rerun at some point! 🙂
By: holty - 14th February 2006 at 11:48
i was a little disapointed that the bobsleigh/rally car was a rerun, but it was a particularily good section to show again, the look on mays face as he was approaching the corners was priceless

Watched it last night Clarkson firing the MP5 and the mini on the ski jump had me in Stitches
Me to. That was cool, but they could of made the mini go further by stripping out the inside, and just leaving the shell…I think it would of go further then. The bobslegh and rally car race was the best bit, but still it was a quality program.

it certainly is, they get their mitts on an even faster better zonda at some stage in the series and jezza looks like he needs a change in underwear whilst testing it out
