He’s not my cup of tea at all but just shy of 10 million listen to his radio show so I guess a percentage of those will follow him to Top Gear. The jury will be out for the first few episodes but clearly the BBC are confident as they have signed him for three years!!

I know Evans has a following of sorts, but personally I have never found him to be even mildly amusing or interesting in the slightest, the sight of him on any show is enough for me to change channels or switch off, one thing sure he has a face made for radio.

Jeeze, I can see Auntie Beeb losing a few Million viewers. O.K. Evans has a nice stable of Ferraries, but who ever buys a Ferrari, then has it sprayed WHITE?. He must be a real Ginger Nut, and I don’t mean biscuit either. What a Bummer.

He is extremely irritating to listen to, so much so that I chose to listen to John Humphries and all the politicians in the morning.

Maybe when he has a script and something of interest to say, rather than having to babble unscripted inconsequential nonsense to keep the records from bumping into each-other he will be less irritating.

But I’m certainly not holding my breath.

Worst kept secret of the year – the louder he denied the more certain it was. I think Moggy has already expressed himself on Evans!!:(

Its arrived. The news of the successor to master diplomat Jeremy Clarkson. Yes, the bloke who publicly denied that he wanted to drink from this poisoned chalice – not so much petrolhead as motormouth; Chris Evans.

Tune in if you like but, I’ll be tuning out. Why oh why does he have to screech all the time ?

Perhaps he’s more to Moggy’s taste.

Indeed. The meeja and the corporate interests they shill for have a lot to answer for.
Combine that with the currently weak political class in a lot of the “West,” largely in hock to those same corporate interests, and it’s not a good picture.

Your first paragraph has it exactly. Neither was there a word of complaint, at the time or immediately after the broadcast when he was alleged to use the word slope offensively. I watched it and recall it clearly and that meaning never crossed my mind.

Remember the Danish Mohammed cartoon outrage? It happened about 4 months after the cartoons were originally published in the Danish press and few of the outraged ever saw them.

And there are countless more examples of manufactured outrage.

Was there really outrage? Or did the usual suspects in the meeja make noise to sell more of their trash?

Please don’t confuse or equate meeja crap with real thoughts.

In my opinion anybody who is prepared to be a “journalist” for a certain group of meeja outlets should be quietly taken out the back and have a 9mm applied to the rear of their skull. (Somewhat similar opinion on those who wish to be politicians!)

Yesterday we watched the film Glory with Denzil Washington. I had taped it from the BBC. Can someone explain to me if Mr Washington uses the N word several times during a broadcast it isn’t a problem(at least I heard no outcries about it) but if JC mumbles it during a nursery rime(not broadcast) we all learned as children there is outrage etc………
