Isnt the airport used by Top Gear for filming closed down? I thought before I had seen a Piper Warrior sitting in the background but last sunday saw the Red Arrows sitting there in full on the ramp whilst their X list Celebrity was doing his circuit around the runway.
Is it still open? Cant believe it is is Top Gear film there!

The previous posts about the Top Gear Aerodrome where not moved to the GA forum yet it was not a Commerical Airport so i see little grounds for moving this thread and not the others.
Don’t argue with the ref!!!! :D:D:D
How do Top Gear or the Red Arrows come under the heading of Commercial Aviation?
Hmmm?

I think it was over 2 days so they overnighted there.

Why would the Red Arrows be on the ground at the Airshow itself? I know Red 10 usually lands but dont they usually come in from the nearest functioning RAF base?

Its filmed at Dunsfold, which is officially unliscened, however is slowly getting busier and busier with some GA pilots. There are also maintenance/repaint facilities there which are also getting more popular.
The reason the red arrows were shown last episode was because it was filmed during the Dunsfold Airshow.
