No there are few worse who make it onto television other than on ‘reality’ shows.

Ross is worth it.
Brand wasn’t worth the salary he was on at the Beeb…..R. Brand is a reasonable stand-up comic, his radio show was tolerable IMO except for the obvious final moment when 40,000 people thought it would be funny to get somebody sacked.

If that’s true I wish the BBC would use some of the money they get from selling TG to buy some decent original shows rather than foisting countless repeatedly repeated repeats on the licence paying public.

Aye…….I read somewhere that a significant part of the Beebs income goes on serious stuff such as Dave Attenborough’s programmes……….and the wages of Eastenders. The latter (As is the Street) is like the Sun and Mirror, aimed at keeping the thick, thick.

Unless…

They tack a blonde ponytail onto the back of the Stig’s helmet, make it unable to park (and make a MASSIVE thing out of it) and Robert’s your father’s brother.

Failing that, make it a mini section similar to “Top Gear Stuntman” but they simply give a girl some hopelessly indepth lines about the rear diffuser on an SLR giving 79.6% rear-hydrogenous off-camber econocentric grip, whereas what would have been usefull would be more up-shift in the grubnuts so as to not buckle the trunions under heavy power loads in the upper-middle torque range boundary.

However, it’d have to be a real girly-girl for it to work. The problem with getting Sabine involved with that segment is that a) we’d believe her and b) we’d be right to believe her.

As has been said before TG is entertainment.

The problem being that for that you need presenters who can drive. Plato, Needell and VB-H meet that criteria. None of the Top Gear presenters can, hence the need for Ben Collins or whoever is the stig this week. The trouble is the stig patently can’t present.

If you want an in depth analysis of which car is good and which is not, a 4 minute segment on the television won´t cut it. Buy yourself a car magazine for that. Top Gear is just for fun, and it is good fun too! In fact, I heard somewhere it is one of the most exported shows the BBC currently has in production.

I also heard that it is one of, if not the top, downloaded show in the World also, as people all over the Globe enjoy watching it. I enjoy watching it for its entertainment value. I actually prefer all the expensive cars on there, as I appreciate the engineering that goes into them and what you can get out of them. They do also review ‘standard’ Fiats, Fords, VW’s etc also…

As has been said before TG is entertainment. In this day of digital tv there is a huge choice of programmes to watch, covering all genres of life. I can watch what I want, when i want, be that Top Gear or loose women, depending on my mood. To take this “bill” to its extreme would all programmes need to be presented by presenters of both sexes, future bands need to have a mix of male and female performers,(no boy or girl groups. Ban the Beatles etc) all duets could only be male/female artists. Where will it end and will it lead to a more divided nation?

…but you are assuming it is a car show. It’s an entertainment show which has cars in it. In that role, it is superb.

The only “Car” show aimed at car freaks is “Wheeler dealers” or “An MG(And the others he’s done) is born”

agreed. I find comparison of yet another half-million pound car with the previous one they drove very, very boring. I’m never going to buy one (I wouldn’t even if I had the money), & I don’t give a toss about them. I am interested in some relatively ordinary cars, but as you say, they’ve dropped all mention of them.

I like the “star in a reasonably priced car”, & they’ve had some gems, such as the Toyota Hilux test to destruction – but it wouldn’t break! Brilliant. But far, far too much self-indulgent “we can use this programme as an excuse to drive insanely expensive cars very fast” stuff.

Now it just seems like an excuse for three grown men who should know better to drive like hooligans or teenage joyriders and get paid for it.. Sorry I don’t rate the show at all, the only good thing id the ‘star in an affordable car’ slot.

Why don’t the politicians go concentrate on how long we will be in the mess that THEY made, or go watch a few naughty films and then claim for them.

Anything other than sticking your nose in a Programme that is not crontrolled by OFCOM.
