RE: Top Telly
I still think Airline was better when it featured Britannia and think that easyJet has had long enough to (as Dazza said) advertise it’s services.
I think it would be good if it focused on Monarch or JMC, it would certainly attract more viewers because there is only so much you can take of the unprofessionalism you can take from these childish easyJet employees at Liverpool and Luton. And why don’t Airline film at Gatwick – easyJet operate from there?

RE: Top Telly
Aviation programmes on telly are getting better, although how Easyjet continues to think Airline is a good advert for their services is beyond me.

RE: Top Telly
It is indeed a brand new series – both Airline (ITV) and Airport (BBC) on each week… is it just me or is aviation related programmes on terrestrial getting better?!

Air Inter A320 crached on Mont St Odile near Strasbourg in 1992.

RE: Top Telly
It was a few years old, but most interesting.
There was a Delta L-1011 Tristar which crashed as it passed through one and the cause was recorded as “pilot error”. Delta’s training pilot simulated the flight and he crashed as well, the decision was not re-thought.
They also featured the Air Florida 732 crash which took off in snow. The pilot did not apply full power for take off and the plan took off and about 30 or 40 seconds later, it stalled and crashed into a freezing lake/river. Only 5 people were resuced.
Don’t forget more top telly tomorrow on BBC1, Airport starts again at 8 or 8:30pm – should be good!

RE: Top Telly
yeah there was whole series of them, right?
I can vaguely remember the series on channel 4;
TWA Flight 800
Pan Am / KLM 747 smash in Tenerife in the 70’s
the Delta L1011 that crashed into water tanks in the states after being struck by windsheer and another about the Air Inter A320 crash into some mountains ?!?!?!
Was a good series, even though crashes make me depressed and anxious :-s

RE: Top Telly
Saw this programme a couple of years a go on Channel 4, If I remember rightly the episode to which you refer is called ‘Deadly Weather’, one of the weather phenomenons they focus on is wind shear, also known as microburst, where exceptionally cold air seemingly falls from storm clouds like rain robbing an aircraft of lift, very interesting T.V.

RE: Top Telly
Can’t you just plug and aerial into the back of the telly?

RE: Top Telly
For those of you who can’t get ITV at the moment due to some regional problems with satellites (e.g. ME!)there are repeats of Airport on UK horizons. 😉
