The Conservative’s quality of life policy review recommends a moratorium on airport expansion and increased taxes on short-haul flights.’

In a similar case, Kent County Council have said that they would prefer Kent International Airport to be developed over Lydd Airport, even though Lydd has a wider catchment area in terms of passengers, it is close to natural wetlands and marshes, so the damage caused by the development of services and further expansion there would be much worse than at Kent International Airport…James (Manston Airport) will certainly agree, I am sure!:D

Yes I do Jon plus KIA is already there and set for take off as lydd wanna have the runway bigger taxi ways and a new ramp etc And the natural wetlands and marshes are very nice Scenery to look at aswel as the wildlife and RH&DR. Be doomed by low 737 aircraft.

Glasgow Man I dear you to email that to the Torys if not I will :diablo: 😀

Dont forget though, that the Tories have said that any further increase in aviation taxes would be matched by a decrease in other taxes…(yeah right, would like to see how that would work!)

Seeing as I come from ‘down-South’, I am not 100% clued up about other airports, but which airport has more potential…Leeds Bradford or Doncaster Sheffield?

Surely it would be in the best interest to expand the airport that has the most potential and limit expansion at the other airport…

The biggest problem I think is that there is too much NIMBYism around…people want to be able to fly from there local/regional airport to save them from having to use big/major international airports, but then they have the ordasity to complain about the noise/pollution that it creates…

I think the Tories would like more people to travel by train to the London airports moving more wealth to the south.

Aviation is already highly over taxed, they can p!ss off if they think they can tax air travel anymore.

Its day light robbery.

Kill the tree hugger I say.

Its not air travel they need to be taxing, but its just easier for them to get more money from air travel. Saving the world my ****, its just a money stealing exercise.

They are jst Money grabers and they just blame climate change on Aviation:mad: Lets hope tory’s never go into power. LBA needs to be expanded as its growing fast.
