Tornado narrowly misses Akrotiri AFB

On Monday, the Cyprus Daily reported that an F2 / F3 tornado developed in the sea off the coast of Akrotiri, Cyprus, and swept inland near the east end of the runway, and then across Lady’s Mile beach toward Limassol Port where it demolished a crane and approximately 120 new cars before travelling into western Limassol where it hit the industrial sector of the town and wreaked havoc for some ten minutes before breaking up into smaller vortexes and dissipating away.

The time of the storm was reported as starting at 1.10pm.

There are 30 casualties and no fatalities reported.
