A bit of a tuck from Libya…

BBC Monitoring Libyan foreign ministry spokesman Khalid Ka’im has called on world governments to take action over the unrest in the UK. David Cameron has lost legitimacy and “must go”, Libya’s official news agency Jana reports. Libya “demands that the international community not stand with arms folded in the face of this gross aggression against the rights of the British people, who are demanding its right to rule its country”, the report said.

While the clean up squads are noble gestures and should be lauded and are extremely good anti rioting PR (thanks to all those who put in the effort often at personal expense of travelling in to affected areas) I think rapid legislation should be brought in to make rioters and looters remanded pending trial to be made public examples and made to clean up the areas they ‘trashed’.

After all if they have the energy to riot and loot that same energy (unless badly injured in the process) can be utilised to clean up pending charges being levelled against them.:mad:

They smash up the community. loot it, and then sit in remand cells, eating and drinking at the taxpayers expense :mad:and the nicer side of the UK youth clean up after these scumbags.

I have already made this analogy from my student part time work. The young (male and females) drink all night in nightclubs, arrive at work dehydrated, hungover, often with no sleep and then loll around talking to each other or on their mobiles discussing the previous nights escapades. Who keeps the business going, the older generation who are in a minority. The irresponsible youth have a great example in the owners daughter who seems mostly on the same wavelength of party, party, party.:mad:

The staff restaurant is filled at all times with the youth talking about the previous nights escapades and taking extended breaks. Does anyone do anything? NO.

The local bus company have a random breathalyser on clocking in and most drivers seem to agree it is fair. Try bringing that in at my work – impossible I am told as the ultimate owner of the multinational is an ex nazi sympathiser and reported as a drying out alchy.:mad:

How can anyone out on energy stimulant cocktails and alcohol all night survive an 8-10 hour shift at work if they have had no sleep the previous night?

This happens each night not just weekends.:mad:

Where do they get the money to indulge in these excesses ?

Well they live at home, drive a car, at Uni (free tuition fees no repayment) often on means tested living cost loan (can be up to £4800+) and earn more than the supposed 20 hours per week during term time.
They simply don’t care a ‘toss’.😡

This is the PC world we live in today and it isn’t a wonder why sadly generalisations are made about youth of today (apologies to all those of you who have younger generations as children and grandchildren who aren’t of this anti social elk)

Interesting to hear the political sound-bites entering the language of ordinary people, ‘lost generation’ (now where have I heard that phrase before :rolleyes:) and ‘broken Britain’; funny how these ‘seeds’ planted by political spin-doctors (I’m at it now :o) live-on long after those that first used them, in the hope of getting elected, are forgotten!

My two are the same Tangmere – my 16 year old and his friends are laughing at the garbage that’s being posted on ‘Faceache’ here in Nottingham!!

I do not believe my children (teens/early twenties) are from a lost generation. They are as horrified as those from older generations by what has happened. They share that disbelief, revulsion and very strong views that the perpetrators need to be dealt with harshly.

No, they were trying to help themselves while the police looked on. As
others have said, you can’t blame the police for holding back. If they even
hit one of these little scum-bags in self defence, it’ll be all over the front
pages the next morning. As well as on the TV news, then there will
have to be an enquiry over the police using excessive force.
They really are in a no win situation. Perhaps they should let the police
wear “hoodies” to protect their identity

Couldn’t agree more. The nanny state and all its supporters need to take a serious look at what their softy approach has accomplished. Just like all the Somalians that were saved – they are all old enough to handle an AK… and do!

However, and whilst it may hav been a token more than anything lets hear it for those young clean-up squads who have set to to clear up the mess. These are the same age kids (mostly) as those who caused this. Lets hear it for them. Give them the praise and publicity they are due. Not all youth is ‘bad’. Far from it. I have four kids and two step kids and I am IMMENSELY proud of them all. They are not any part of a lost generation.

I getting a tad fed up with the general portrayal, in many quarters, that those involve are some how “representative” of a disaffected youth. Utter bollox, and we all know it.

Some of those looters were saying they wanted everything for free, so give them it……

Free years…….

A quiet night it seems in Walsall. The retail Park near to me is completely untouched, not been into the town itself but I’ve been told the Police were very quick to react yesterday afternoon to disperse any groups gathering. Tea time yesterday I drove through a predominantly Asian area with a number of jewellery and electrical shops. It was clear to see that owners and others in the community were prepared to defend their businesses if necessary. I suppose it safe to say that there was, overall, a very eerie and unnatural calm over Walsall.

Staying at my Uncle’s last night we were within 500 yards of Bescot Stadium, home of Walsall FC. They were playing Middlesborough last night. Normally you can hear the chanting and shouting from inside my Uncle’s house, but last night it was silent. Possibly because they lost 3-0 to Middlesborough.

Feel desperately sorry for those caught up in trouble in Wolverhampton and West Bromwich. I don’t know what tonight will bring, for us in Walsall I hope it’s another quiet night. I hope this is burning itself out (for want of a better phrase) nationwide. We’re expecting rain tonight and tomorrow which might help keep things calm.

Thanks to all for their good wishes, it purely was a precautionary move on my part as the route to and from my Uncles passes two retail parks or the Town Centre, no real way to avoid them.

Hope everyone has a safe day and night and that this is all coming to an end.

Just as an aside, I have a couple of good friends who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. With their belief that we are living in the ‘end of days’ in mind they rang me last night to check we were safe. One of them said to me that she’d been informed that for them, this was it, that Jesus was in fact coming. She then said he’d better hurry up or he will have missed all the best tele’s. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Witnesses don’t have a sense of humour.

I think Nashio would have us believe that these looters are dashing anarchist revolutionaries, putting their lives on the line to rescue us from a totalitarian regime, rather than the thieving scumbag gits with delusions of self-entitlement that they actually are.

Not been on this forum for the last 48hrs as I’ve been at home here in Wolverhampton watching the demise of the local area piece by piece online….

ALL our surrounding area has been subject to this fiasco – Wolverhampton itself, West Bromwich, Birmingham etc…. Latest online updates indicate that there has now been a death in the Birmingham area during mob clashes where 3 males were reported to have been run over by a vehicle. The local media coverage has been showing scenes that are unbelievable, and where we are it feels like we’re stuck in a war zone to be honest.

I work in public transport, which has been suspended from operating in ALL city areas of Wolverhampton and Birmingham on Police advice as our own staff safety was in question! My partner starts a new job in the morning, which I feel the need to escort her to for her safety now – thanks to the totally unpredictable nature of the outbreaks which have trashed our neighbourhood. Worse for her, as she moved up here from Croydon to escape the general state of that area (and which is now so heartbreaking to watch on the news as she sees her old areas destroyed by fires).

When will it all end I wonder? I’m both ex-RAF and ex-Police, and feel sooo racked off and willing to bear arms to defend our neighbourhood – such is the deep-felt hatred for these scum who are just out for a thrill and some free kit 😡

Our 18yr old twins are sitting here disgusted at the attitude of so many of their peers too, from both areas they have now lived in…..
