Hope someone can help. Does anyone know how I can check up on the RAF casualty list for a specific date? I am looking for confirmation for the 9th July 1958 – can anyone tell me is there was anyone killed that day. I seem to remember finding something out about 20 years ago in a book at my local library but cannot seem to find it again. Can someone confirm I wasn`t dreaming? All assistance appreciated.

According to records held by the MoD The only recorded fatality in the RAF on 9 July 1958 died as a result of natural causes.

Going slightly off the thread.Royal Air Force Pilots serving in other countries(Australia),serving in a RAF unit(54Squadron) under RAAF command.Where would their history be kept? :confused:

Colin Cummings has written a series of books, listing all RAF incidents since 1945 to 1999 – There is no accident on the 9th July 1958 listed… There were 3 accidents on the 11th July 1958 – But only one resulted in someone being killed..
Javelin FAW4 XA751 of 141 Sqn which crashed 1 1/4 miles NW of RAF Wattisham Killing Captain E Taylor of the USAF (age 36) – The navigator ejected OK..
