Trade/sale forum?

How would you guys feel about an added forum? A place to post announcements of Aviation items that you have for sale, or that you would like to trade.

Items that you have may include:

Safety cards
Pictures
Models
Sick bags
Books
Postcards
Parts of aircraft….

Anything really?

Id like to get some feedback on this, and hopefully if alot of positive replies come from it, i can put it towards the webbie?

Cheers All. 🙂

Haven’t seen much demand for this from regular users to date, and I know that there are other sites where such “memorabilia” can be traded.

I think it’s a good idea…..better in the community than out and easier to deal with perhaps?

On the whole I’m all for this one, but as andrewm points out it would have to be well thought out legal wise. With ref to safety cards during my time as a Traffic Officer/Dispatcher I always asked the crews concerned before obtaining them and they were always very ok about handing one over, not that I have many. I would like to think that we could trust each other in our trading/selling etc but some kind of back up would I be smart I guess.

Yes but Michael they would still be participating in the illegal act of selling them and letting the crime take place which, under UK law at least, makes them partly responsible for the crime itself as an accessory or what ever you want to call it.

Im all for this idea but worried about a few things such as what about people who say they will sell something and it never turns up. There would need to be some sort of special sign up to this that includes details so that people can be held to account if this happens.

Also items would need to be vetted so people dont discribe their item and mislead the user with the discription as well as the actual item itself.

Alot of things would need to be worked out and im not sure if the webby would be up for it but im all for it just worried about bits outlined about a few other things 🙂

I know that some airline people do watch forums including ours and im not talking about contrabuting members with WD and selling Safety Cards and such like would draw their attention. It would be very easy, since the people i know viewing are from UK airlines, for them to legally get at Key Publishing. Ebay on the other hand is an Multinational company based on the US but with offices in the UK and any legal action would be hard to do since using ebay is actually quite anonomous compared to here.

eBay does not sell safety cards and nor would Key Publishing be selling safety cards. It is the members of these sites that sell the items, they simply use eBay to do it.

Why doesn’t EBAY get into ‘hot water’, it sells items nicked from airlines.

Er Key Publishing could get into hot water over selling of Safety Cards as that is theft from airline if the airline is still operating or gave special clearance to let you keep it! Sellers or buyers could also get into bother.
