This PA28 Cherokee, F-ONZY landed at Norwich, from Oban, on Saturday for fuel …. not too exciting I thought ! but whilst hanging over the fence to take a photograph or two the pilot came over and was excited that his aircraft was of interest telling me he had flown it from, I believe, Antigua, along the US east coast and via the north atlantic route heading for France !! He was wearing an Oshkosh tee shirt, so i assume he visited there on the way ! stupidly I did not ask his name or get a photo of him with his aircraft …. Am I correct in thinking that the F-O part of the registration is allocated to French Overseas registered aircraft ??

Gentlemen ! Thank you all for that confirmation of my theory !
Newforest …. how can you be so accurate ?? I must say he was speaking rapidly and my ears were listening very slowly 😎Keith 🙂
The registered address is/was Guadeloupe. 🙂

Either that or the previous owner was a fan of the 70s American comedy “Happy Days”.
Regarding a Cherokee crossing the Atlantic, somewhere Shelia Scott is smiling. 🙂
Yes, I know she had a Comanche…:) .
Sounds like a fun trip, it would be an adventure….Lindbergh with a GPS.
A friend flew his TBM 700 to Franch for a TBM owners meet, but somehow I think a turbine would take some of the fun (and most of the stress) out of the trip.

Hell! You’d need patience to cross the Atlantic in that.
Respect.

Think you might be right Keith and if correct, not a lot of people know that (outside of France), but I think Guadeloupe might be more accurate than Antigua. 😉
