That’s what I thought too, agree though that Sandy could have done a better decal. 🙂

I suppose it’s obvious when you look at ACMI operators liveries, they’re designed to be quickly scrubbed off and replaced with whoever has contracted them that week, month, summer season etc…

I think Air Scandic is just worse, a great big tacky sun plonked on the side of a plane is just childish!!

The one at the top is TF-ABA. That is not ex-EAL, neither is TF-ABP, the other aircraft they have. The other pictures near the bottom are computer generated as these have been on their website since EAL were still in existence.

That is an incredible tacky “Livery” (Would hardly call it one!)
And as for the person who said you think SCY is bad…. Well this one might be bad but still not as bad as SCY.

Travel City Direct are a Swansea based travel company specialising in Florida holidays. They also do European holidays but I’m not 100% sure where to. Somehow they have the ability to undercut most tour operators by a large amount (presumably as they are a smaller private company). We went with them to Florida in 2001 and they were at least ÂŁ500 cheaper than all other companies I tried. We were able to fly from Cardiff for the same price as Gatwick with most operators (not that we ended up landing back in Cardiff but thats a whole other story and nothing to do with Travel City). They are a great and really helpful company & I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again (and I am NOT biased because I come from Swansea, I vote with my wallet!).

GD1, no these are no ex-EAL examples. There are currently 2 747-200’s in the Travel City Direct fleet, both leased from Air Atlanta (TF-ABA & TF-ABP).

They are flying from LGW and MAN to Orlando. As said above they will be taking over from EAL on this sector.

Seems these two aircraft, ABA in particular are leased out quite a bit.

TF-ABA alone in the last few years has been with, Iberia, Garuda, Nigeria Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Depending on what the fares are like (I havent personally seen their website, so i dont know) I think this could be quite a profitable company.

I do agree that the livery is a bit bland, but thats hows its supposed to be – Cost saving.

he he. well put Wannabe!

I’m proud to say that I am currently working with a start up airline in the USA. And if all goes well and they get off the ground I can assure you they will not have a crap, tacky livery. 🙂

I think the bosses son designed that one on MS Paint, and still did it in a rush! Looks very tacky indeed, as does their website, and if you search on airliners.net you should see what they look like on the inside!

They do runs across to Florida don’t they? Taking over the flights previously operated by EAL. I think they have a website along the lines of travelcitydirect.com? Looks really cheapo. Their ‘fly on our jumbos’ advert reminded me of something you would see in the 60s. As if flying on an ex-BA jumbo is some sort of special experience?? (OK I admit I’d quite like to)lol
