Travel City direct To Get A B747-300??

on pprune they were talking about european air charter/EAL recruiting more staff and one post said.

December 1st will see two Air Atlanta Europe B747-300s operate for Travel City, one at LGW and one at MAN.

Both aircraft are coming from Corsair in a 580 seat configuration – this will be changed to the Travel City spec, and will most likely seat approx 520 pax.
Both aircraft will receive full Travel City identity

anyone know if it is true?

Of course they will replace them. Those 200s are bad for the image with all the delays. TravelCityDirect remind me of Peach Air with their old Tristars and knackered 737-22, you know the one that had that pressure burst and the captain and stewardess fainted!

They won’t go onto the UK register though.

I think this was touched upon recently? 743’s seem to becoming more affordable in the 2nd hand market and Atlanta have already purchased their first 744’s. I expect them to lose all of their 742’s within a year or two.

Boy, do they need a younger more reliable Jumbo than that old sow they have been flying this season. That big baby spends more time parked than in the sky!
