Looks like the National Airforce Museum at Trenton have finally got an example of a Lockheed Hercules. It was moved over a few days ago into the museum’s airpark. It is a CC-130E 130314. Looks to be a pretty complete example. Some items have been removed from the cockpit panel area and her paint work is a bit patchy but she does look pretty good to me. I would imagine that a concrete area will have to be put in place before she sinks into the soft earth of the park.
Also it was still interesting to see a second Voodoo CF101B still in the park. Kinda nice to see two Voodoo’s at one location. The one 101046 used to be parked over by the Air Cadets Training Centre also in Trenton. Overall her condition isn’t that bad. She is in about the same condition as the one that it currently in the main part of the park. Just a few more dents etc. I think she might still have her P&W J57’s in place also but I could be wrong.

Two Voodoos 🙂

Maybe the engines are in here still?

No idea on that Brit. Seems they were quick to get a set of wings though?

Peter,
So do the wings on this Herc actually belong to this airframe?
I think the Yukon was a very long shot but a C119 would have been nice to have and those aircraft were available….

To bad they couldn’t get the Yukon and a C119 in RCAF colours from Greybull sure would add to the transport collection.

I wonder why the CC130 wasnt repainted before being brought to the museum?

I passed the museum yesterday and I must say the Herc looks impressive sitting in it’s new home.
Even with a wind warning the Lanc did make an appearance for the Bomber Command cairn dedication. It made two passes and touched down safely.

Well they have done a pretty nice job on putting that Herc together for the airpark then. Any idea on when she was last flown. I have seen pictures of her on static display at an event in 2005 so I am assuming she might have been flying in that year.
Too bad about the lack of engines in the Voodoo eh…

Mike, Yes that is the same one that could be seen i nthe distance minus wings. They were waiting on a set of wings coming from out west I think.. Watch for the CF18 to show up soon as well..

Great shots!
I guess this particular Herc was the wingless airframe on the north side ramp. They must have re-assembled it in the airpark?
I believe that this is the second CC-130 to have been retired from service, the first possibly being the airframe entombed in the new Hercules Training Facility at Trenton.
FYI….There will a Bomber Command cairn dedication tomorrow at the museum and from what I’ve heard a flyover by Lancaster FM213.
Regards,

Nice pics! Pleased to see the Herc was completed and is now on display.. From what I have been told from a reliable source, the second voodoo is engineless only the burner cans fitted..
