My first trip report: MAN-SFB on 18/05/04-02/06/04
We arrived at the airport at around 7:15 to catch our 11am Flight to SFB with My Travel Airways. This was my first experience with My Travel and I was hoping that it would be a good experience. We got our seats designated to us I was sitting in 22A just by the wing of the A330-243 Aircraft. We commenced boarding at 10:15 and departed 10 minutes later than scheduled, we roared down the runway and turned right towards Liverpool and then out over the Irish sea and then to the Atlantic ocean. Our flight time was nine and a half hours. The cabin interior was nicely presented and the Aircraft was clean, however the Cabin crew on that flight were really rude to the passengers and they looked like they did not want to be there. I particularly liked the idea of the downstairs toilets and I also liked the way you could see the scenery you were flying over with the Camera. We got to Sanford one hour thirty minutes early as we had some good tail winds. Over the Atlantic and we used loads of reverse thrust coming in at Sanford. One thing that really bothered me was that the Captain said that we were on a A320 when it was clearly marked on Safety Cards and the size of the Aircraft that we were on a A330. I did not however catch the Aircraft Registration, and I was wondering if any of you guys saw it departing Manchester. Part 2 may come soon. (P.S. Thanks to Val one of the cabin crews for allowing me to have a safety Card and the In-Flight Magazine).

i think that My Travel will eventually go bust but i think they are ok my favourite is Still Thomas Cook i have not yet flown First Choice but i have heard good reports about them. I think that My Travel Should just operate as My Travel Lite because you get your moneys worth with them
Stopthefighting? Stopthesentencewithaperiod is more like it.
I echo what bmi-star said. Next time, don’t fly charter and go Star Alliance, baby! I would like to fly BD’s ORD-MAN service one of these days.

I was only putting my views accross aswell and we are all entitled to our opinion

i also forgot to write that we got 1 drink service in 9 hours and 1 meal that was inedible and a mouldy old muffin
Don’t fly Northwest then…. I asked for a beer and whisky
chaser only to be told I could only have one drink at a time!
Mind you looking at the FA’s they did appear to be reps
for the Temperence Society of America.
Telling a Scot he cannot have a whisky chaser is like
nailing his feet to the floor when playing a Jimmy Shand
record. 😮 😮 😡

my dad travels a lot to Nigeria with KLM and he said they keep asking you every 15 minutes and he says on night time flights they leave the trolleys stocked up with soft drinks for people just to help themselves to.
Thats an example every major airline should follo, well done KLM.

Not only that its turned into a really childish thread, with Wilags comment and stopthefightings comment about they should just turn into MyTravelLite?

I seen Travel City direct in Sanford when i went spotting the livery is really tacky but i think its growing on me

I dont really blame the Airline that much because i dont think its their fault that the supplier does not give them enough supplies. Val made are flight home much more pleasant than the outbound one
By: bmi-star - 2nd June 2004 at 19:19

One drinks service ! The normal is three on a flight of that length ? As for the meal i have to agree the chicken bake is shocking. As for the pilot thats a fairly normal mistake, his last few flights we probably on a A320 and he has just got used to saying it. I know Val she’s a good girl.
