If it is £114 from Glasgow, then I would also book that and then try and find a cheaper fare from London to Glasgow. There are plenty of flights to be had for less than £82, even if I have to settle for bmi, who I said I would never fly with again

Looks like all outgoing flights are booked for the next few weeks.

Nope, that was return.
I tried to see how much a return was from Glasgow to Barra, but the BA booking engine is a sneaky little thing. There are plenty of £29 plus tax fares around (each way) but you can’t seem to get a £58 plus tax round trip.
If you could, then a return trip would only be £120 or there abouts.
But like I say, I’d definitely be up for it.
That’s an excellent price for £196 from LHR to GLA and onto BRR and all the way back again…. Think it’s £114 return for me.

Are you taking the Twotter or the Cessna John ? :diablo:
Was thinking of going to Machrihanish a few weeks ago on the T’wotter but the air show that was meant to happen was cancelled

I was talking Twotter, but if the Cessna owner is ok with me taking it to Barra, then I’d take that.
I went over to Islay on Sunday evening, beautiful weather, smooth and sunny. On the way back we were above the clouds, well there were no clouds directly below me but to the left and right it was just a sea of white….EXCELLENT.
The weather is not looking good next week, but I’m sure the cessna could go on one of those days. On the way back from Barra I would have to drop in at Oban to have her washed…

London Heathrow to Barra (via Glasgow) is a whopping £196 with British Airways. Mind you, I’d be happy to spend that for a decent trip.

A trip with an exotic aircraft eh…

BA kindly offered me a return from BHX for £192. Only drawback being that the return flight leaves Barra two days before I arrive.
Don’t you just love booking engines?

I’m definitely up for going there, but I’d need a little bit of notice so that I can try and secure a cheap fare from London to Glasgow.
Leave it a month or so and I’d definitely be up for it. 😀
