Trip to Sinsheim/Speyer museum. Photos!

Been to both Speyer and Sinsheim today. I was limited with time, so only went for the planes and did not pay a lot of attention to the numerous cars, tanks and trains.

Outdoors the planes are parked on stilts at an angle. This makes walking in them a bit of a hassle, and people with a disability won’t even have to try.

Worse still though, the stilts make it next to impossible to maintain these planes. This shows really well on their older exhibits. For instance their DC3 at Speyer (Air Inter). That plane has holes in it from corrosion.

Also, some of the planes can be used by kids as a platform for a glide. The DC3 at Sinsheim (Lufthansa) is an example of this bad practise.

If you have an opportuniy I suggest you visit these museums fast. Their aviation collection will deteriorate and because of their location there is not much that can be done against it. Go there, while it is still worthwhile.

1) Concorde Air France – Speyer
2) 3) 4) Tu-144 “Concordski” – Sinsheim
5) Tu-134 Malev (ye olde livery) – Sinsheim
6) 7) 8) 9) Antonov 22 – Sinsheim
10) Ju-52 Luftwaffe – Sinsheim. They actually got three in Sinsheim. One outside, and two inside.
