Tristar at EDI

I drove past EDI around an hour ago and spotted the unmistakable tail and engine config of a Tristar sitting on the cargo ramp. In the bright morning sunshine it appeared to be white with some sort of small sticker on the tail.

Anyone know if it was an RAF tristar or perhaps one of Air Scotlands? Might be a bit early for that though.

Yeah, I can now confirm it was an RAF Tristar arrived from Calgary at 4am before departing at 1930 to Brize Norton. 🙂

ah, there we go 😀

Actually, now I come to think about it, the Portugese flag on CS-TEB is on the third engine intake and not not at the top of the tail.

My mistake…… 😮

CS-TEB of Euro Atlantic has a light-coloured tail with a Portugese flag near the top.

Does this sound like what you saw, Sandy?

any fuselage markings? as this thing looked mostly white.

I think it was an RAF one now… the size of the flag colour logo on that model of Ren’s is about the same as what I saw

It was probably an RAF Tristar, they come in quite often.

Sounds more likely to be RAF than Air Scotland, possibly even Euro Atlantic ?

Incidentally Air Scotland have confirmed the lease of two Tristars for use on routes to New York, Miami, Toronto and Havana from this July.

There you go London Airways, snooze and you lose ! 😀

In other news Fly Globespan will operate My Travel’s Glasgow-Hurghada service once a week, every Friday over the summer using one of it’s brand new 738’s.
