At the beginning of the week a Lockheed TriStar overflew the bay here at Bournemouth twice, at a quite low altitude. There was a RoyalNavy warship in the bay at the time, probably a coincidence !
Yesterday while at the garden centre at the end of the runway at Hurn I’m sure I saw a DH 104 Dove landing. Can anyone confirm this ?
Quite a treat, I’ve not seen either type flying for years.

Went to Airtime for maintenance – G-OPLC. It’s a regular at Hurn.

Thanks for the TriStar replies, real shame they are being scrapped. Can anyone shed any light on the Dove, it was landing in the middle of the afternoon last Thursday.

Would be great if one could be kept ground running / fast taxi at Bruntingthorpe, however I suspect the cost would be enormous.

Oops. Edited!
The potential buyer did not complete the deal, so they face a bleak future.

The Tristar (ZD948) was on it’s last operational flight, prior to going to Cambridge to meet it’s end.
The final 6 TriStars went to Bruntingthorpe, not Cambridge. There is talk of a buyer in the US being interested in them.

The Tristar (ZD948) was on it’s last operational flight, prior to going to Cambridge to meet it’s end. The Hurn flypast was a nod to Cobham Aviation who installed the air to air refueling equipment.
Hurn from a Tristar.

Edit. Mike’s quite right – not Cambridge. We also flew over Cambridge to salute Marshall’s, and that confused my fingers.
