Here’s a story I’ve been waiting for Air Enthusiast or Bill Gunston to do…but I’ll open it up to you…
For 40 years we’ve heard that the cancellation of the TSR-2 was the downfall of the British aerospace industry and the RAF.
My question is, IF it had been built and fielded in numbers…and knowing what we know now about the development of defenses would it have been any good in the long run or would it have been obsolete by the mid 70s?
Thge same question applies to the CF-105 Arrow.
As much as I disliked the Kennedy administration killing the XB-70, in the long run it was probably the right thing to do since I don’t think the thing would have worked at low level.
I look forward to a spirited discussion….
