Strategic bombers successfully executed cruise missile launches on targets at one of Russia’s northern ranges within the framework of the on-going strategic command and staff training in the armed forces.

“The crews of two modified Tu-95MS bombers on Tuesday in poor weather conditions launched cruise missiles which successfully destroyed targets at a Russian Federation northern range,” the chief of the air force press service, Colonel Aleksandr Drobyshevskiy reported. He noted that crews of two missiles carriers, piloted by commanders Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Zemnukhov and Major Sergey Sekachev carried out the launches.

We know that these weren’t Kh-55s (the 200kt nuclear explosions in open air would be noticed. Ergo, they were either firing Kh-555s or Kh-101s. Cool.
