Now, for a moment, I thought my eyes were deceiving me….
I spent the day in Brussels yesterday, and noticed at BRU Airport that there appeared to be a Fokker 100 in what looked like TUI colours. I seriously had to do a double take because you just don’t imagine any TUI airline seriously using an F100, but they were.
This F100 (OO-TUF) is operated by JetAir/TUI Airlines Belgium.
Have to say, the blue and white looks rather smart on the F100 although the JetAir logo looks way too small.
According to airliners.net, this aircraft joined in April this year. Anyone know if there are plans to operate anymore?
It would be really funny to see them do a fleet swap so that Britannia ended up with the F100 for a bit 😮

Have bmi’s last F100s retired now? I think I’m right in saying that the last couple were just doing the LBA – LHR route, but I haven’t seen any at LHR for a while.

This morning’s bmi Voyager magazine said there was one left in the fleet.

Too bad they couldn’t come with a livery that looks less cheap. Even the 1970’s silver / white / blue cheatline / black nose liveries were less boring.

The last one was retired just last week, now with the Airbus on the LHR run, been a mix of 320/1s I think, though we are supposed to have the 319.

Depends how near to the back your sitting! bmi offer ear plugs on their F100 flights to the passengers in the last couple of rows as you can’t hear a thing! Hehe!!! :p
Since December I have flow 14 times on F70s and F100s of both KLM and bmi – have sat on the very back row with both carriers and have never been offered earplugs! The noise isn’t excessively bad anyway.

I agree, they were nice when they were new OneLeft. I remember the F70’s & F100’s we had at bmi. I especially loved the F70, we called it the pocket rocket for obvious reasons.
I think after a good few years of flying and passenger use, the bmi F100’s seemed especially tired and the last two or three rows were incredibly noisey.

The noise at the back of the F100 cabin is mentioned every time the aircraft comes up on the forum, yet it’s a funny thing I remember it being really quiet when I used to fly on them at Air Europe. Strange how you remember things the way you want to.
We used to use them on charters, especially at night when they weren’t on the scheduled routes. Range was never an issue and pax loved them as they were spacious (in scheduled config). This one is landing in FAO on a charter.
That TUI one looks great, and I hate the TUI colours normally.

I think they’re a great looking aircraft, but perhaps a little limited in range for a charter operator like TUI. You just don’t imagine them being much use to a charter airline like that. Obviously they’re not going to make the canaries or cyprus in an F100 are they. 😮
It was even a struggle for an Air UK F100 to make it from Stansted to Salzburg ski-ing charter flight, unless at least half the luggage was left behind to get the required fuel on board
