Tupolev Tu-144

Hello,

For those interested, I have put online the new version of Avialogs.com, as the web site is almost finish now, I will have more time to push new documents and movies on a regular basis (one or two per week).

I have posted several parts of the Tu-144 manual, including all cockpit description. It is in Russian (izvi`nite..) but with a lot of graphics.

Enjoy,

Benoit

A ‘labour of love’ Benoit, well done.

One small point. Have only had a quick look through it so far. Is there a list of the remaining aircraft and their status (ie where they are)?

Roger Smith.

Roger Smith.

A guy named Ben posted this list at the airliners.net forum in 2003. I added a couple of updates, but it is far from complete.

SSSR-68001 First flying prototype. First flight 31 December 1968.

-77102 Crashed at the Paris Air Show, 3 June 1973.

-77103 Fate unknown.

-77104 Never wore this registration and was instead re-registered SSSR-77144 and used for exhibition flights. Fate unknown.

-77105 On the Zhukovsky Air Base scrap heap (anyone seen ‘the dump’? very interesting indeed). Modified for new engines (RD-36-51A and hence became Tu-144D). Fate unknown.

-77106 In the Monino Museum, 29 February 1980.

-77107 Aviation Institute Kazan, Russia by June 2002.

-77108 Museum in Samara, 27 August 1987. One of two aircraft to operate the Moscow-DME to Almaty passenger service. Stored at Samara, Russia by March 2009

-77109 Stored at VASO (Voronezh Aircraft Construciton Organisation). One of two aircraft to operate the Moscow-DME to Almaty passenger service.

-77110 Stored Ulyanovsk, Russia by June 2006.

-77111 (D) In-flight fire and written off after emergency landing at Yegorievsk while still ‘brand new’.

-77112 (D) Previously stored at Zhukovsky. Now at the Sinsheim Museum, Germany.

-77113 (D) Stored at Zhukovsky.

-77114 (D / LL) Used by Nasa/Boeing/Tupolev/Etc as the SST testbed and re-designated Tu-144LL (Letalushaya Laboritoriya ‘Flying Laboratory’). Stored at Zhukovsky

-77115 (D) Stored at Zhukovsky.

Hi Ken!
That bush in front of 114’s wing has grown a bit in 40 years – I wonder if it’s the same guard as on my picture, linked above, he’ll be getting fed up!
