Turkish Air Force

The Turkish Air Force is, in my opinion, one of the most well-equipped air forces in Europe/Asia. They operate a very large fleet of F-4 Phantoms and F-16 Fighting Falcons for air defence, ground attack, and reconnaissance. They operate the F-5 Freedom Fighter, T-38 Talon, SF.260, and T-37 Tweet in the training role. They also have a small number of KC-135’s for aerial refuelling. They have 737’s on order for AWACS duties and a wide variety of transport aircraft ranging from the UH-1 to the CN.235, to the C.160, to the C-130. They even have the A400M on order. They also use biz-jet such as the Citation and Gulfstream for various VIP/Liaison duties. I am just wondering what your opinions are of the TuAF? I like it because of two reasons: 1. They operate a large variety of types so it makes things interesting. 2. This is the obvious one- they still use the F-4. Also, they don’t plan to replace the F-4 (or F-16) until around 2020 with maybe the JSF.
