Turkish Airlines signed today in Berlin an order for 36 Airbuses worth 2.8 B$.
The order is about 5 A330-200s, 12 Airbus A321-200s and 19 Airbus A320-200s.

I think that the Boeing 777 is one of the best-looking airliners ever built.
Mind you, I say the same about the A330. ๐

Austrians are the most arrogant folk

Now, I like Airbus, and I like Boeing – but people (namely Beistrich) who think that the sun-shines out of the respective companies anus.
false. Did i say something like this?
Boeing made good Aircrafts (like Airbus) but i am a Airbus- and Aviation-Fan. Not more

Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.
I’m just a bit irritated by the constant AvsB nonsense that keeps cropping up on here – have we really nothing better to talk about?
Looking back at my last couple of posts, I have to admit that they’re a bit over the top. Apologies, Sandy. ๐ฎ
Mostly. ๐
No apologies necessary ๐

Actually, this contact is a reputable source, Grey Area!
and a source who would rather go for a DC9 or MD-80 than a Boeing or airbus anyday.
Infact, he owns two MD-80s and recently purchased a DC-8… he loves Douglas Craft ๐
I keep hinting for a jumpseat ride, but he ain’t biting LOL

Actually, I do know something about the THY requirements. I actually know a lot, certainly a damn sight more than anyone on this forum.
Course you do, course you do. Brain the size of a planet, and all that.
We are not worthy, etc, etc…….
You’ll be telling us all about how you’re not anti-Airbus next. :diablo:

And how could you possibly know that the Airbus products don’t also meet THY’s needs, Sandy?
You don’t, do you? Unless, of course, you were at the board meetings that discussed the order. Which you weren’t, were you?
Or perhaps you believe that your knowledge of THY’s requirements is deeper and more accurate than that of the company’s management?
After all, they’re only airline executives – what do they know about the airline business?
It’s your usual “Boeing Good, Airbus Bad” rubbish again, isn’t it?
Boooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiinnnnnnngggggggggggg!!!!!!!
Actually, I do know something about the THY requirements. I actually know a lot, certainly a damn sight more than anyone on this forum.
My comrade at arms in the Livery industry did the evaluations for THY. He’s Managing Director, come engineer, come pilot, come auditor, come analyst. He’s the one that set me up with a great deal of contacts.
OK, background done… allow me to quote what he said in regards to the THY announcement a little while back.
“The Management agreed with my assessment and the 767 and 737 was on the board with the 777 still under consideration. The 737 in particular had all the hot and high performance that THY required. The 767s had the flexibility that would be required. I canโt go into too much detail. Suffice to say, things happened in the EU. Chiraq and his f***ing cronies told them to buy Airbus if Turkey wanted in.”
So, there we have it. I have edited this extract to remove names and I’m not at liberty to share the rest of the e-mail. Lets just say that he was most displeased at having wasted 6 months of his time evaluating and assessing.
Not my usualy crap this time. I never said either was better for the airline, just stated the politics behind this situation
