Turn back TIME

Today I found an old Log book, and found two Shackletons I had flown in many yrs ago. I posted on Historic, to see if anyone knew their whereabouts,(ID Numbers given). pagon 01 stated he possibly knew the fate of one of them, nr him, scrapped. The same happened to the second, elsewhere.

So, guys and gals, if I could turn back time, I would try and get WB 822, in somewhere like Duxford, so I could go there now with my Grandchildren and say, “I flew in that”.

What would you do or change if you could turn back time?.
Jim.

Ah, I see I was correct. 🙂

Like all great authors, take a snippet of scientific doubt and explode it into a vast range of possibilities which actually have a linkable thread back to the “Known”. Added to my falling out of an Armchair with laughter, makes damn good reading!

H2G2 was also full of such things.

I still think the time we know that never existed before man wanted to set seasons, sun, tides, etc. for personal use.

Two things I’ve always wondered. If you go back in time one day and meet yourself, then live that day again to the point where you go back in time again will you end up with an infinite number of you?
Also if you go back in time to the exact moment you started going forward in time will you be stuck in a loop?
Finally at what point does all this start happening?

Well, it’s just about word for word on there as PeeDee has put down, so one will just have to draw ones own conclusions on that, unless PeeDee owns up:eek:

C.D. If you remember , in the time machine film, he remained where he was in the house, and he watched the Future appear, don;t remember seeing the past, so the question is, would it be possible, to go back in time, like a big 360 degree circle and end up, where everything started?. ie, as in the film, Back TO the future.

Is there a difference, if you build a time machine to go to the future does it disappear or does it just sit there for say 20 years while the world goes speeding by, but to you it would be instantaneous…

Good question; I always wondered that when watching the film ‘The Time Machine’ (the old one).

There is still a difference; time-travel surely means travelling back in time also?

What about cryogenics? You wouldn’t need food or water…

Yes, but if you’ve perfected cryogenics you don’t need to travel at (or near) light-speed.

G.A. Everything can be measured, but man invented that for obvious reasons.
I still think time as we know it never existed before man wanted to adapt seasons, sun, tides etc, for his own use.
Prior to man, what was time?.

Oh, Go on, you know you want to;)

Guess again.

Time, per sey, has never existed, it’s only man using the sun and moon in specifics that made different events occure, at the TIME he had worked out for those events to appear.

No, that’s the measurement of time being used in astronomy.

Time is something different.

I often wonder if Stonehenge had anything to do with it. Off topic again.;)

You can’t invent something that has always existed but if you mean when was the concept of time identified, it goes back into pre-history, surely.

Time is, after all, only a way of expressing the relationship of one fixed point or event to another.

Linc, I think your original thread has rather lost it’s way – again!!!:p:D

TIME, WILL TELL PETE :D. Seriously though, it’s funny how one thing leads to another, look where we are on this, but taking it on the whole, and bunching it up altogether, it all relates to time.

Even everyones postings on here, even me typing this now, has taken….TIME. B.T.W. Who Invented TIME?.
