Can someone tell me please if the above gauge Sect Ref 6A/1804 or 6A/1805 can be considered as ‘hot’ in radiation terms?
many thanks

I’m with Hindenburg on this one.
I’ve never seen a TPI fitted to any panel, not even in a turret!
I think his suggestion of a Steering Indicator for the MK IX Course Setting Bomb Sight might be the gauge you’ve seen? (And they’re equally “hot”!)

As far as I`m aware `turret position indicators` were not fitted to Stirlings..and were solely for the attention of the gunner anyway. The top left hand corner of the early Stirlings pilots instrument panel were fitted with a` steering indicator for the bomb aiming ( 6A 579)`as shown here.I`ve shown it at actual size if you wish to copy.

Hi Alan
Depending on which photo you look at, the TPI was fitted in the top left hand corner of the main instrument panel. Not every aircraft had one (even Mk Is and IIIs) so it’s a nice to have….

Are you positive you need one in the first place? Where exactly did it fit?

Thanks for that, I pretty much guessed as much.
Looks like a facsimile will be the order of the day

Hi Martin
May take you up on it, I want to check first though as I don’t want to add to our woes considering the hassle we’ve had so far
cheers
