Turret trainer

Does anyone have any plans or photos of the WW2 air gunners training rig?

Terry P. You are correct, AP 113 was amended from time to time.

I have a copy from the early 1920s. The RAF museum has a copy that dates to the 1960s. AP 2462A – ‘Engineer Publications’, first edition February 1943, gives a useful inside into the arrangement of manuals of the period.

Like most APs I’m pretty sure AP113 was amended from time to time and formed a list of Current publications rather than a list of all publications. Certainly the later catalogue of publications AP100Z-0101 was amended. However the DoRIS at RAFM may have a list anyway.Catalogue of Publications

You might want to check with the RAF Museum if they have any relevant Air Publication on turret trainers.   I’ve seen photos of various types over the years and seeing that the RAF had an Air Publication on just about every piece of kit the kind folk at the Department of Research and Information Services in Hendon might just have one in their vast collection.     That could start you off.

Does anybody out there now if there is such a thing as a list of all Air Publications ever published?

Cheers,

Walter

There’s a rear view of a similar trailer (with a civilian registration) if you google “gunnery training trailer WW2” in use firing on a circular training track, but you have probably seen that one.

Have you asked a similar question on the Trailers, plant and equipment forum over at HMVF.? There are one or two over there who specialise in the restoration of WW2 RAF airfield equipment
