As for the rams – I think they are modern. I think they were bought to help get one of the turrets going and are for functional reasons only.

Your right Mike it is a Fn121 or 120 turret base.. I wondered about that for ages! The rams look to be similiar to the ones mounted in the firewall that control carb intake air. Hard to tell without something to show scale

Hi Elliott,

Thanks! Let me know how things work out. I am quite willing to part with legs, arms and maybe even my first born for one!

What are the rams up for auction from?

I seriously think that this is half of the accommodation plate for an FN20/121 turret.

Very nice Mike – you are quite a craftsman. I will let you know how the elevation ram pans out – there may be a spare.

Cheers

Hi Elliott,

The FN16 is doing fine. Not much is being done to it at the moment.

I have been contemplating replacing the original wood ring on the stand that the turret sits on. The wood is literally rotten and starting to crumble, but what do you do!

I have built another wood ring (see attached pics) in the last few weeks for the stand that my FN121 will be sitting on.

Wow! An elevation ram!

If you ever do come across a spare let me know.

Hey Mike

How is your Fn16 these days? Did you ever find the gun elevating ram you needed? I may be getting one soon… There might be a spare etc.

Peter,

Try AeroTrader in the US, they also manufacture new blown cupolas for the Martin SC250 turret.

Would look wrong on a Lanc though, ANY Lanc!!!! :diablo:
