TV File Sole Survivor

Just watching the TV Film Sole Survivor about a downed B25 and wondered what happened to the aircraft?

It was displayed (as it was seen in the film) at a now defunct auto and aircraft collection then scrapped in the mid -70s.

It was a B25J 44-30979 (condemned by the California Air National Guard as repairable) and marked as a B25D 41-30257, a type actually used in the North African campaign. It was owned by Ed Maloney’s Air Museum at Ontario, CA, now known as the “Planes of Fame” collection at Chino.

The USAF-marked H-19 was a civilian example painted in military colors. As I recall, the film was set in the early ’60s so the helicopter was correct for the period.
