TV 'Heads Up'

Foyles Law is turning into an excellent series. The attention to period detail is near faultless, it is just like living the early days of the Phoney War as best I can tell.

However in the irritating trailer at the end of this weeks episode, designed to stop you trying to read the credits, there would seem to be a Spitfire featured in the next episode.

OK it will probably only be a glimpse, but the programme itself is no hardship to watch anyway.

Two points.

1) Foyle’s only son is in pilot training with the RAF. Anybody like to estimate his chances of making it to VE day intact?

2) The gloriously named Honeysuckle Weeks, playing Foyles driver Sam is absolutely superb in her role as an upper-middle class English ‘gal’ who has joined up to help the war effort. I’d be surprised if Snapper hasn’t slobbered all over his screen after her. 😉

RE: TV ‘Heads Up’

Be fair,

There were a couple of ‘Merlins-off’ in the background of episode one.

Agree about Sam’s buttons though. If I was her superior officer I’d give her a right dressing-down for that. 😉

Attention to detail…pah….typical TV/Film costume bods forgetting to polish brasses…have you seen the state of her tunic buttons…x(

“Never seen the like of it in all me life….!!”

Oh and have you noticed it’s now post Dunkirk and pre BofB, supposidly set in Hastings, and yet only for the first time this week we heard the faint overdub of aircraft noise…..???

But, having said all that, a better than usual effort from the TV lot I must say.

RE: TV ‘Heads Up’

I agree with Moggy, the series has been good so far and seems to be developing nicely.Seeing that the Spit in last night’s trailer was MH434,it’s no wonder she was looking so shiny.Methinkes there may have been a feather boa involved somewhere…
I could be wrong, but I thought I also caught a glimpse of the late Martin Sargeant’s PR.XI aswell.Over a year on and I still can’t belive that he and that beautiful Spit are gone.
Getting back to the subject of totty,Sam’s character and looks strangely remind me of contemporary pictures of Princess Elizabeth the future Queen,so I’m afraid it rather affects my judgement in the looks department, but she certainly plays the role well.

RE: TV ‘Heads Up’

I have the internet now, I don’t need a TV. But, specially for you Moggy, I shall curtail my endless surfing next Sunday and give you an opinion. How does she compare to Tara or Suzannah?
