Not sure if a thread has been started on this before, but listening to some of the opening theme music from past television programmes has made me feel very nostalgic.
A couple of my favourites are Tales of the Unexpected and Sale of the Century;

This has been a favourite of mine since I first heard it in 1990 aged 11 and it is the ringtone on my mobile! I still have all episodes on VHS that I watch occasionally and would love to get on DVD.

The theme tune to BBCs ‘Holiday’ always got me going, not because of the tune but because of its siren call to the TV and the promise to a young lad of glimpses of half undressed females on a Spanish beach!
As a piece of music I loved the one to ‘The Life And Times of David Lloyd George’.
Holiday. From the album Arc of a Diver by Steve Winwood. Or are you going back further.
Match of the Day theme has stood the test of time very well.

I so wanted to be Danny Wilde, but with Brett Sinclair’s accent.
Quite an ambition for a kid from Liverpool

I never realised there was a TV series of ’12 O’Clock High’.
Which is one of the reasons why I mentioned it. 🙂
