You blokes are bloody lucky
You get to see a wide range of aviation based programs, from what I see on this forum, and I’d certainly love to see them out here.
All we get are crap like Neighbours, which goes on for years. Maybe Germaine was right, we are backward.
Lucky sods!

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. A (non-aviation) mate of mine told me today that she’d been watching it and not only had she enjoyed the humourous aspects of Clarkson’s commentary, but she also honestly felt that she’d learned a lot more in that one hour of prime time tv than she ever thought was possible.
Yes he’s opinionated, yes he can be a smug git, and yes he can be downright bloody obnoxious when he wants to be. But Clarkson’s one of a very few people who can make education both effective and humourous. Fair play to the bloke. 🙂

I think hes an arrogant self amusing sod who only has time for things he likes and everything else is crap!
I agree about the non-pc/poncy side of him but does he really have to be so damn smug!???
Hes just like all the other reporters who have to put up with a crap script and add a bit of “personality”
Get someone who knows their stuff and delivers a non-irritating, enthusiastic dialogue, unfortunately I cant think of anyone in the avaition world!Last one for me was Raymond Baxter – my God I sound just like my Dad!! RIP

I like him he ain’t a yes man and he does report things without talking down to people like some of the poncy tv reporters these days.

Jezza can do no wrong in my book-a few more opinions freely expressed on TV like his are, please!

I dunno – I think if it had got too technical it would have turned a lot of people off the programme – not evereyone would have our depth of knowledge!!;)
In this PC orientated world that my have to live in, at times he is a lone voice of reason, him, P J O’Rouke and Boris Johnson
I totally agree!

Fine programme 🙂
It really made you feel for Whittle, who was very badly done by.
As for 55 hours in airliners – hell!
I used to do a fair bit of air-travel. After the first two weeks you start to dread it, more and more.
It’s not even the actual flights, in Business Class they are just about tolerable. It’s the bloody airports.
Hate them.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly the footage of the 60s airliners and the Sandringham(?). Am I alone in thinking that occasionally, JC talks some sense?
No I think JC actually speaks a lot of sence most of the time,

As much as I enjoying aircraft, 55 hours around the would in five days would be hell.

good show and concorde footage summed it up “flying into the sunset”thats for me moment what airline aviation has done.

Not bad, i do like the way he’s making sure we all know how backwards we are when it comes to Concorde.
