Hi All
My parents visited today and brought a large box of pictures I took many years ago.
Here is a selection at random. Some old friends, some still with us and some very sadly not.
Sorry about the quality, they are old but I thought worth a showing.
All the best

How about the Varsity taken late 1983, but I’m afraid I didn’t write down where….
And the Vintage Pair at RAF Abingdon 1982.

Here’s a view of the Corsair with a nice paint-job on the drop-tanks. 😀

Stringbag,
here’s one just for you.
I found the print this morning acting as a book mark in the pages of one of my Putnams books.
I’ve no idea when, where or why. 🙂 😉 🙂
Cheers

Agree with Robbo here – re-ignite the thread with more photos 🙂
Can’t believe that they were all posted before May 2004 though!

Co-incidence…
Robbo
I don’t believe it, we were both looking at the same old thread from all that time ago at the same time.
I was just looking to see what I’d posted up, as I’ve lost all the scanned stuff I did then (still got originals) and you were looking too.
Scary!!!
I’ll see what I can come up with in a few days.
Happy New Year

Paraffin Burners…
Hi All
As promised, a few more.
These are for those people that enjoy seeing paraffin burned.
All of these with the exception of the Tornado are history now.
Andy 😉 😉 🙂

If you get the excellent video Hawker Sea Fury, John Beattie gives a tour of the wreckage. I can’t believe for a second that it could be made into a Sea Fury again.

Superb pix of TF956 and WG655 Andy. Many thanks for taking the time to scan and share them.
Some people seem to think that TF956 was just dumped in the sea within minutes of its undercarriage leg locking down. Yet John Beattie tried for over two and an half hours to try and get the aircraft back down on the ground safely.
Also, in between his po-going, a British Airways 747 made an emergency landing at Prestwick due to fire caption in the cargo hold 🙂

What happened to the wreckage of TF956? Is it a possible candidate for restoration, statically restored..?
I think it hit the sea very hard, don’t think there was a lot left.

Late 82 early 83 I believe. Sandy Topen’s Vampire was used as well.

I was definitely photographing the Meteor but my mind was probably wandering onto other things.
Hell, I was only about 21!!!

Here’s one from my dark period.
Taken at Duxford in the early eighties.
Why is this NF.14 painted like this??
I have no idea.
I think the girl’s name is Sharon. I eventually married Vanessa (much later) so we’ll leave it at that.
I’ll try and post some more tomorrow.
Andy 🙂 🙂 🙂
The NF 14 was painted for a futuristic drama called Aerodrome in about 198* (insert your own guess here, I’m too tired)
So, were you photographing the Meteor or Sharon’s bum?

Painted up for a television programme I believe (The Aerodrome?) which also used T33’s G-JETT and G-TJET.

Fox Moth..
Hi All
Thanks for the kind words and interest shown.
Here’s another.
The Fox Moth at Old warden.
I think it was destroyed about 1982 so this to use ‘A Time Team’ kind of phrase this gives us the dating evidence we need. Around 1982.
