I always thought the two tail ‘solution’ had a certain aesthetic elegance to it… in theory.
Most of the examples I can actually think of, whilst I have a soft spot for them, managed to look as though they were designed by a committee on an off day!

Can’t beat the gorgeous looks of the Beech 18 – the most attractive aircraft ever fitted with a radial engine
Umm be careful what you say…each to there own. I have to admit its my favourite twin, but its not the most attractive aircraft with a radial. Not that I’m biased of course!!

‘C-119 Flying Boxcar (with auxiliary Viper)’
Basically it was the same underwing engine (Westinghouse J-34) and nacelle assembly fitted to a Neptune and mounted upside down on the fuselage top.
I still say the XF-11 is the most majestic twin boomer, 2nd pic included to give scale to this Hughes created beast!

When the Stuka still had two – Ju87V-1
Not so keen on that!! It just doesn’t look like a Stuka!
For bombers, of course, there’s only one – the Lanc!!

Snargasher, Desford, Gemini, Barkley-Grow, KZ IV, Langley 29-90, Shcherbakov SHCHE 2, Secan Coulis and Lockheeds galore :0) The Coulis qualifies for your twin booms.

twin tails or twin fins!
‘I always thought the two tail ‘solution’ had a certain aesthetic elegance to it… in theory.’ for me, the Sea Vixen…
But if we are talking twin fins and rudders I would choose the Shackleton

The Germans really liked their twin-tails. Almost all Arados had it, Heinkel had it on-and-off, the large Junkers.

Maybe not the most celebrated of fighter designs, but certainly feared by bomber crews….
Gentlemen, the Zerstörer.

And I happen to think it’s a rather mean-looking beast – in a good way, of course!

Here’s one of my favourite twin tailled aeroplane.
