Two American Eagle RJ"s bump at LAX

Passengers making the short 110-mile hop from Los Angeles to San Diego on American Flight 3805 likely got a bigger delay than they ever bargained for yesterday. That’s after the American Eagle Embraer regional jet flying the flight bumped the tail of a parked plane, another American Eagle Embraer, according to The Associated Press. American Eagle says Flight 3805 had just pushed back from its gate at LAX when it bumped into a plane parked at the next gate.

KTLA News of Los Angeles says “the departing plane … returned to the gate and its passengers were being booked on other flights, according to airport officials.” LAX and San Diego International are about 125 miles apart by car. The Los Angeles Times adds “none of the 40 passengers and three crew members aboard the departing aircraft were injured, but there was slight damage to one or both of the planes, said Nancy Castles, an LAX spokeswoman.”
