GRASSE, FRANCE (BNO NEWS) — Two British pilots were killed on Thursday when the helicopter they were flying came down in Tourrettes-sur-Loup valley in southern France, the UK government confirmed on Friday.
The two pilots were identified as Martin Rutty and Simon Lichtenstein and represented the United kingdom in several flying competitions. The pair have previously won five British Championships in over ten years of participating as a team…

The newspaper report was a R22 but can’t locate the article or follow up.
Not forgetting the Heli Monaco AS.350 last Wednesday with three fatalities.:(

RIP. Not a good week for helicopters. Three helicopters crashed on the same day in a field in the US whilst preventing crop freeze.
All in the same area of South Florida.
I’m sure the local FAA FSDO and NTSB crews were busy.
RIP to the pilots.
