Two Qantas 744's collide in maintenance hanger

Two Qantas planes, including one damaged in a mid-air explosion in Manila in July this year, have collided at a maintenance base.

Qantas general manager of engineering David Cox said the two Boeing 747s had “come into contact with each other during towing this morning” by a tug on the Avalon maintenance base south of Melbourne.

“Both aircraft did sustain some damage and the extent of this is being assessed,” Mr Cox said.

Qantas has stood down an undisclosed number of workers involved while an investigation into the incident is conducted.

A spokeswoman for the airline refused to comment on the extent of damage sustained to the planes and would not say how close the aircraft damaged in Manila was to returning to the air.

However, television pictures showed one plane had suffered damage to its wingtip.

The one with the damaged nose cone is the aircraft that was involved in the mid air explosion over the Philippines a few weeks back

Ouch!
How much is that likely to cost to repair then?

I think the biggest cost will be the kit behind the nose cone , Weather radar antenna and so on , the wing tip damage may take the longest to repair.either way a very expensive incident

From the link provided in the previous post it looks as thought the front (nosecone) of the aircraft has been damaged as well…
