Just a quickie – popped into OW for a fix at the weekend – notice there are two Ryan Recruits (think Kinner engined) at OW – both in a lovely pre war scheme – I know one belongs to Hairyplane – whose is t’other?

They are glorious little aeroplanes. And fit very well into the collection where they are housed.

Flew overhead Old Warden on the way back from Leicester to North Weald on Sunday afternoon.
It looked so very green and peaceful from a couple of thousand feet up, as if just sitting, waiting calmly for the season to begin.
I always look forward eagerly to the first ‘sunset’ of the year.
I’ll post a critique of your polishing skills then Kev, but I’ve rarely seen the Shuttleworth aircraft look anything less than pristine, glinting in the late evening rays. 🙂

With living on the wrong side of the Irish sea, I cannot get to Old Warden as often as I would like, the place is in a class of its own!
For Ryan fans everywhere I could not resist posting these two pictures, taken during last years display season!

The ‘other’ PT-22 belongs to Tracy Curtis-Taylor, I think I spelt that right, and has been about at OW pretty much all season. Great aircraft and they look so right together in the air over Old Warden together. And yes they are kinner engined.
One of the highlights of my first visit to OW – OK, everything bar perhaps the Turbi was was a highlight, but…
Yes, they not only look superb but sound it too – I love that engine note, sort of Singer sewing machine meets Motorhead!
